One week after the fourth Facelift Surgery —A patient originally from Singapore

This is Dr. Nakao from Nakao Plastic Surgery.

This is a one-week update of the patient whose post-operative photo was posted on our blog the other day.

We hope it helps give you a better idea of what to expect during the recovery period.

The subcutaneous bruising (discoloration) around the lower eyelids, nasolabial folds, and corners of the mouth may indicate the area where tissue was separated.

Improvement of the nasolabial folds and marionette lines can also be considered an improvement achieved through facelift surgery.

These are necessary spaces for opening the mouth and making facial expressions, so eliminating them is extremely difficult.

Based on our extensive experience in Deep Plane Facelift—among the most in Japan, we carefully consider the optimal direction of traction for each area.

If we can successfully lift the faces of Japanese patients, who typically have smaller chins and fuller cheeks, we believe facelift surgery for other ethnicities is also achievable.

This time, the incision lift included:

Forehead lift

Deep plane facelift

Lateral neck lift

Pelican Surgery (Platysmaplasty)

We are targeting the skin, subcutaneous, SMAS, muscles, tissues beneath the SMAS, periosteum, and connective tissue.

The Deep Plane Facelift involves a composite flap of the skin and SMAS.

However, since the facial structure consists of more than just these layers, we have incorporated techniques that address all the structures contributing to sagging.

This may be the reason why lifting is still possible even in a fourth procedure.

At our clinic, we have many patients who undergo facelift surgery multiple times.

This tends to be more common among our international patients.

As facelift surgery is becoming one of the standard treatments for facial sagging in Japan as well, we anticipate an increase in repeat facelift procedures among Japanese patients in the future.

It's a facelift surgery based on established literature, but refined with the latest techniques and insights.

It meets the global standard.
