Men’s Rhinoplasty – Hump nose, drooping nose case

This is Dr. Nakao from Nakao Plastic Surgery.

In this post, I would like to introduce the preoperative and immediate post-operative case of men's rhinoplasty.

Preoperatively, a hump nose and a drooping nose can be observed.

The postoperative cosmetic goal was to straighten the dorsum of the nose and raise the tip of the nose.

The hump nose was corrected by a method called "Preservation Rhinoplasty".

The most prominent part of the hump nose is often the junction between the nasal bone and the cartilage of the nasal dorsum, so the junction in this area is removed and the nasal septum is moved by using this area as a hinge to open the nose to eliminate the bump of the hump nose.

The drooping tip of the nose is amended by suture-fixing the harvested cartilage to the nasal septum, then fixing the nasal tip cartilage to it to adjust the angle of the nasal tip freely.

This time, I used the method of Dr. Teo in Turkey.

Some patients are unaware that their nasal tip is naturally drooping, causing nasal obstruction. When a cotton swab is inserted into the nose and the nasal tip is lifted during the examination, patients are surprised to find that they can breathe more easily.

Along with the formation of the nasal septum, proper positioning of the nasal tip is also important for function.

At Nakao Plastic Surgery, we perform many nose surgeries for foreign patients.
Many patients from China and other Asian countries as well as from Europe, the United States, and the Middle East have undergone nose surgeries.

One of the most common concerns of Western and Middle Eastern nasal patients is nasal deviation.

In these cases, the noses are larger than Asian noses, the nasal dorsum is humped and the nasal septum is curved and crooked in appearance.

Many patients request to have their hump nose corrected as well as to have the crookedness corrected.

As a pioneer in Japan, we have performed many surgeries to correct hump nose and deviated nose using preservation rhinoplasty.

We recommend rhinoplasty with functional cosmetic surgery.
