International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery ISAPS Participation 3

A commemorative photo with Dr. Ishikawa, a junior member of the medical office.

He is an excellent lower blepharoplasty surgeon.

I listened to many lectures on facelift surgeries.

The best part of the conference is that I get to hear the actual voices of the doctors who have written the medical papers I have been reading.

There are many discoveries, such as the slightly different surgical techniques from those in the papers.

Although slightly different from a facelift, the presentation on lip augmentation (making a duck mouth and increasing lip volume) given by a group from surgeons from Peking University in China was very interesting.

I got the impression that China is a little advanced in this field, as Chinese doctors are actively posting on social media.

I was very surprised to see the Houston group report that they performed facelift, mammoplasty and abdominoplasty simultaneously under intravenous anesthesia instead of general anesthesia.

The postoperative awakening was also very good as seen in the video and I would like to learn more about their report as we often perform eyelid surgery under intravenous anesthesia.

The last lecture of the day was on lip lift by Dr. Marten.

He is an American leader in facial rejuvenation surgeries such as the high mass facelift.

The lip lift has a unique treatment of the base of the nasal columella and the nasal cavity floor, and there was a slight difference from the method used in Japan, as there was not much dissection area.

When I attend academic conferences, I often notice the difference in surgical methods between Japan and other countries.

It is necessary to carefully examine whether these differences are due to Japan being an island nation and lagging behind the rest of the world or whether they are not performed because they do not suit the Japanese skeletal structure.

The next day was my presentation, so after dinner I went to the hotel to review my slides and checking the speech draft and then went to bed.
