Facelift Surgery – Net Suture Dots
I am Dr. Nakao from Nakao Plastic Surgery.
As the Deep Plane Facelift is about to become the mainstream in facelift surgery in Japan, a more advanced concept called Preservation Facelift, which requires less peeling of the skin has emerged.
Our clinic has been performing incisional lifts that are suited to the Japanese while incorporating these techniques.
The hemostatic fixation method called "Hemostatic Net Suture" is undergoing a revival.
It has the advantage that the skin lifted by facelift can be fixed in a higher position.
It is now in trend again along with the Gliding Lift technique.
Although there are many advantages, such as the fact that drains are often unnecessary, some patients have voiced their concerns about the dotted skin after the net sutures are removed on post-op day 2 to 5.
These net suture dots would not be visible in the end, but to ease the patients' anxiety, the net suture was placed over the tape that had been conventionally fixed after the surgery.
The tension in the tape fixation increases the pressure and it also seems to increase the hemostatic effect.
As you can see in the photo, the spots are already less noticeable, so I believe this is a good method.
We would like to continuing this method.
