Some Asian women are concerned with their heavy upper eyelids.

Double eyelid surgery can resolve this concern, but the buried suture method may not be suitable for those with heavy lids.

Creating double folded eyelids by incision surgery can alleviate this heaviness.

Reducing the fat beneath the orbicularis oculi muscle (ROOF; retro orbicularis oculi fat) and orbital fat beneath the orbital septum can create a more refreshed appearance.

Additionally, for those with inherently weak eyelid-opening muscles, adding ptosis surgery to tighten the muscle fibers can make opening the eyes easier and enhances expressiveness, helping the patient shed the sleepy impression.

 

Here, we combined ptosis surgery with double eyelid surgery, resulting the pupils to look bigger and adding more expression.

Even when looking upward, the muscles that open the eyes remain active, so the pupils are clearly visible.

For Asian with heavy upper eyelids, double eyelid surgery may be a good option.
